Vash Level 2 (2025) Film: A Review

Vash Level 2 (2025) Film: A Review : There’s one film that a lot of people know—it came out in 2023 and was loved by audiences. When a hypnotic, supernatural horror-thriller like that is a success, a second part is bound to follow. With that expectation in mind, Krishnadev Yagnik, the film’s writer and director, has created Vash 2. Although its primary language is Gujarati, this film has also been released in major cities with a Hindi language track. The filmmakers showed great confidence in releasing it all over India. But what is this new film really like? Today, I’m here to tell you.

This new film picks up 12 years after the events of the first part. The master of black magic, Pratap (Hiten Kumar), is still not out of the life of Atharva (Hitu Kanodiya). He is the same man who wreaked havoc in Atharva’s life in the first film by possessing Atharva’s daughter, Aarya (Janki Bodiwala), and making his life a living hell. By now, you might have realized that Bollywood made a remake of this very film, Vash, which was called Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan. Interestingly, Janki Bodiwala played the same lead role in that film as well.

The story of Vash 2 moves forward as 16-17-year-old schoolgirls suddenly fall victim to black magic. This time, the possessed girls are even more violent. Atharva suspects Pratap is behind it all. How Atharva will get rid of this problem this time is something you will have to watch the film to find out. Amidst all this, you will also get to see a different side of Aarya.

As for the direction, since this is a low-budget Gujarati film, the direction reflects that. I’m sure after watching this film, Bollywood will take it and make a higher-budget Shaitaan 2.

Janki Bodiwala has, as always, played her character well. It seems she was made for roles like this. The film maintains its thrill until the very end because the story has substance. The cinematography, however, feels average, and some of the VFX effects seem a bit weak. The background music isn’t anything special either.

There’s a scene where the possessed girls stand on the school roof and jump off at the same time—it’s quite scary. Another strange and terrifying scene is when a new room is shown for Aarya, where she looks like a complete witch.

There’s a mysterious scene where Atharva goes to meet Pratap in a dungeon, but Pratap, who is supposed to be imprisoned there, just laughs. This suggests that the film has an extra layer of suspense.

Spoiler alert! All in all, it will be fun to watch this story again when it is remade as Shaitaan 2 in Bollywood. But if you can’t wait, you can definitely give this film a watch. It’s been released in both Hindi and Gujarati.
