From Stand-up to Stardom: The Munawar Faruqui Effect

Remember Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Bigg Boss 17? Before the show, he was a stand-up comedian, not widely known to the general public. However, his stint on Bigg Boss made him a household name, and he eventually won the season. His background as a comedian certainly gave him an edge.

It seems history might be repeating itself this season with another stand-up comedian, Pranit More. Before his entry into the house, Pranit wasn’t a well-known face. But since joining Bigg Boss 19, he’s been trending everywhere. The primary reason is not just his presence on the show but also the sudden virality of his old stand-up videos.

In these videos, Pranit often targeted Salman Khan with his jokes, some of which were quite adult in nature. One viral clip shows him asking a female audience member if her pendant was given by Salman Khan, and when she jokingly agrees, he asks if she went to his farmhouse. Another of his controversial jokes was, “Salman doesn’t eat money, he eats people’s careers.” In his show, Pranit had once suggested that Salman was more interested in ending careers than making money, and he even displayed photos of artists like Vivek Oberoi and Arijit Singh in the background.

The Weekend Ka War Showdown

These videos went viral just as the audience began to recognize Pranit More. However, things took a dramatic turn on the “Weekend Ka Vaar” episode, where Salman Khan confronted Pranit about these jokes. Salman clearly expressed his disapproval, advising him to refrain from making personal jokes.

While Salman’s point about keeping humor professional is valid, one can’t help but wonder if Pranit’s career might now be at risk. After all, Salman Khan is known to have a huge influence in the industry. It’s ironic, considering Pranit’s own joke about Salman eating careers. It’s worth noting that Salman has produced shows for other popular comedians, including Kapil Sharma, but none have ever dared to joke about him in this manner.

Who is Pranit More?

Pranit More hails from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Before his stand-up career, he worked as an RJ and content creator for Radio Mirchi. He has also hosted major events like the Filmfare Awards Marathi. Now, with his entry into Bigg Boss, a new chapter has begun.

Will he be able to capitalize on this opportunity and achieve success, or will he be swept away by the storm created by Salman Khan’s disapproval? Only time will tell.
