Andaaz 2 Review: A Disaster That Was Best Left Untouched

The film Andaaz, which was released in 2003, featured a top cast of its time, including Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, and Lara Dutta. The director of that film, Suneel Darshan, decided to make a part two. But the question is, who did he choose for this film? Newcomers like Aayush Kumar, Aakaisha, and Natasha Fernandez. And what was the result? The film was a disastrous flop. Suneel Darshan’s experiment after so many years was a complete failure, and here’s why.

The Weak Storyline

First, let’s talk about the film’s weak story. It’s the same old, tired story where Aarav (Aayush Kumar), a struggling musician, is not doing well in life. He also has family problems. Then comes the love triangle: he has to choose between two heroines—one who loves him, or the other who can bring him success. That’s it, folks. Tata, bye-bye, it’s over. The story has no substance to keep you on your seat. You won’t be able to tolerate it even until the interval, and you’ll find an excuse to go to the washroom and head straight home.

The Cast

Now let’s talk about the star cast. Aayush Kumar, the main hero, has no acting skills whatsoever. I don’t know what these actors think when they perform, and I have no idea how filmmakers cast them. The two heroines are in the same boat, looking less like they are acting and more like they are focused on skin show. Some scenes feel more like a web series from an OTT platform. To be fair, the 2003 film Andaaz also had scenes like that, but they were not overdone. The audience loved that film.

Direction and Music

Now, let’s talk about the film’s direction. You will see the same old-fashioned direction that was common in films from the 2000s. The direction in this 2025 film feels just as old. Suneel Darshan’s attempt has failed.

And finally, the music. The music was composed by Shravan of the famous Nadeem-Shravan duo. But not a single song was memorable. The 2003 film Andaaz was a hit partly because of its songs, and the songs in this film are simply not special.

So, there is nothing in this film worth watching. If you want to see the open romance of the hero and heroine, go ahead, but otherwise, there’s no need to spend your money.
